Sebelum ini DS Nizar dalam program beliau di Bukit Gantang semasa menjadi Ahli Parlimen  menyatakan beliau akan mengadakan kenduri kesyukuran jika menang saman FITNAH ke atas Utusan Malaysia.

Akhbar Australia dakwa pengusiran Senator Nick Xenophon buktikan Najib pengecut.

Pengusiran senator Australia Nick Xenophon minggu lalu menunjukkan pentadbiran Datuk Seri Najib Razak “takut” dengan rakyat Malaysia yang akhirnya mencapai kematangan untuk mencapai kebebasan demokrasi, kata akhbar Sydney Morning Herald hari ini.

Pengarah akhbar antarabangsa Peter Hartcher berkata kerajaan pimpinan Barisan Nasional (BN), walaupun memerintah lebih setengah abad, tetapi masih belum membawa negara ke arah demokrasi matang, dan takutkan pilihan raya bersih dan adil yang akan mengugat mereka memegang kuasa.

Beliau mengatakan peranan Xenophon sebagai pemerhati antarabangsa sistem pilihan raya Malaysia dan berkempen untuk pilihan raya adil, menyebabkan senator bebas itu diusir dari negara Sabtu lalu.

“Puncanya kerana beliau adalah pemerhati antarabangsa berkempen untuk pilihan raya adil dan bersih,” kata Hartcher dalam komentarnya hari ini.

“Ini bukan ancaman keselamatan kepada Malaysia, tetapi ancaman ke atas parti yang memegang kuasa,” katanya... ~ The Malaysian Insider

At the centre of the long success of the ruling party is racial politics.

The county had a history of communal violence; the coalition National Front or Barisan Nasional (BN) party addressed that problem because it was founded on the principle of power-sharing between racial groups, the Malay majority with the Chinese and Indian minorities.

This balance held in check the fear of racial violence on a communal scale. But another key concept in the long years of BN rule was that the native Malays were inferior. They may be numerically dominant, but they lacked the skills and abilities of the other races. ''Deep within them,'' wrote Mahathir in his 1970 book The Malay Dilemma, ''there is a conviction that no matter what they decide or do, things will continue to slip beyond their control; that slowly but surely they are becoming dispossessed in their own land. This is the Malay Dilemma.''

How to address it? By granting the Malays special privileges, including guaranteed dominance of the public sector and automatic, unearned shares of national wealth. In short, affirmative action. ''It should not be wrong,'' wrote Mahathir, ''for the Malays to cling to a system which can elevate them to the status of other races, thus creating a more equitable society.''

The system kept the peace, but one side-effect of such a long stasis was that the government's monopoly on power allowed it to wield a near-absolute control over the other arms of the state, including the courts.

Mahathir shocked the world when he demonstrated the way that he'd managed to compromise all parts of the system when he moved against his deputy and potential nominated successor, Anwar, by trumping up charges that he'd sodomised his aide and speechwriter. Anwar went to jail for six years.

This was supposed to discredit Anwar permanently. But after moving to the US, the aide who testified against him recanted. In the police cells he had been ''brutalised to make a totally false confession'', he said.

Anwar, freed, led a barnstorming campaign as the leader of the opposition. He delivered the BN government a terrible shock at the 2008 election - it lost its customary two-thirds majority of parliament.

And while the BN retained a big majority in the parliament, the actual voting figures show that the contest was much closer than it appeared. BN won 51.4 per cent of the votes while the greater opposition gained 48.6 per cent.

The BN is protected by a gerrymander which means that while some electorates have more than 100,000 voters, others have as few as 7000. It's also protected by other systemic factors including a restricted press - the opposition parties need government permission just to print their own newsletters.

These are some of the awkward facts that Xenophon, as part of a wider international observer group, pointed out in a report last year. That group reported that in its discussions with the secretary-general of BN, Adnan Mansor, he'd stressed the importance of ''avoiding racial strife'' in Malaysia. He had posed this question to the group: ''Are our people mature for freedom?''

The Malaysian government is afraid not of an Australian senator but of this question. In particular, the Najib government is frightened that the answer might be ''yes.''

Senator Australia Nick Xenophon ditahan di KL LCCT kerana dianggap sebagai "enemy of the state" of Malaysia ..

Mula-mula kita ucapkan tahniah kepada Kerajaan Malaysia yang diterajui oleh Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak kerana telah menjadikan negara ini lebih selamat dengan penahanan seorang 'musuh negara' (enemy of the state) pagi ini.

Kemudian fikirkan semula adakah Najib telah benar-benar menjadikan negara ini sebuah negara yang selamat dengan menahan seorang Senator tapi dalam masa yang sama membenarkan lebih dari 100 lelaki lengkap bersenjata mendarat di Lahad Datu.

Meskipun mereka lengkap bersenjata api namun mereka tidak ditahan kerana telah menceroboh negara Malaysia hanya kerana mereka mendakwa mereka adalah waris Sultan Sulu..

Lebih menarik.. tiada kekerasan yang dikenakan terhadap penceroboh-penceroboh itu, tetapi rundingan telah dijalankan..

Senator Australia Nick Xenophon telah ditahan di Terminal Penerbangan Tambang Murah (LCCT) dan sedang menunggu untuk deportasi kerana didakwa menjadi "musuh negara".

Xenophon, yang tiba di KLIA awal pagi ini, ditahan pihak imigresen sejak beberapa jam yang lalu.

Xenophon memberitahu akhbar Sunday Mail Australia bahawa beliau sedang ditahan di kawasan dengan semua sel tahanan penuh dengan wanita.

Katanya, beliau dimaklumkan yang beliau merupakan "musuh negara" dan akan dihantar menaiki penerbangan berikutnya untuk pulang ke negaranya.

Menurut senator itu, walaupun tidak dibenarkan membuat sebarang panggilan telefon, tetapi beliau sempat menghubungi akhbar Australia itu ketika ditinggalkan bersendirian dalam bilik soal siasat.

Xenophon dijadualkan untuk bertemu dengan ahli-ahli parlimen, Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya dan Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Nazri Abdul Aziz mengenai isu-isu pilihan raya.

EXCLUSIVE: Independent Senator Nick Xenophon is being detained under police guard and awaiting deportation from Malaysia as an "enemy of the state", over a series of planned meetings with pro-democracy MPs in Kuala Lumpur.

Senator Xenophon landed in KL this morning but has been under armed guard for the past two hours. He is being held in an interrogation room at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, which has a series of adjoining cells holding female prisoners.

He has been told he is not allowed to make telephone calls and is not even allowed to go to the bathroom without a police guard.

Senator Xenophon managed to make a call to The Sunday Mail when he was left unattended in the interrogation room.

"I am effectively a prisoner here," Senator Xenophon said. "I'm being held in an area with all these holding cells which are full of women. They have basically told me I am an enemy of the state. They are trying to get me on the next plane out of here and back home."

Senator Xenophon managed to use his contacts to get a text message to the Australian High Commission in KL and is awaiting a visit from High Commissioner Miles Cooper.

After he landed this morning the South Australian anti-pokies Senator joined the customs queue but was told there were "irregularities" with his passport.

He was then taken away by the immigration officials to the guarded area where he was told that the Malaysian authorities knew of his stance on human rights in Malaysia and his itinerary for this week.

Senator Xenophon was scheduled to meet with pro-democracy and Opposition MPs - yet oddly he had also been granted a meeting with a senior Government MP, the Special Minister of State.

"I was even meeting members of the Government, I mean, the whole situation is ridiculous, we are meant to be the closest of friends with Malaysia," he said.

"We are meant to be having a people swap deal on asylum seekers but so far it looks like the only person being swapped is me."

Senator Xenophon believes that a recent article he wrote for Fairfax newspapers in January, which was critical of human rights in Malaysia, may have emboldened the authorities to deny him entry.

Last year he was also unwittingly caught up in a 25,000-strong democracy protest in KL where he was tear-gassed.

Associate Professor Clinton Fernandes of the International and Political Studies Program at the University of NSW said the Malaysian Government was worried about Senator Xenophon because he "provides the public with an international voice about problems with the electoral system."

Senator Xenophon and Dr Fernandes were part of a 2012 International Fact-Finding Mission on Elections in Malaysia, whose report was critical of the Government and which called for electoral reform.

"Senator Xenophon and a delegation of Australian parliamentarians were going to Malaysia to meet with politicians, the Malaysian Bar Council and the Electoral Commission to discuss electoral reform outlined in that report," he said.

"There is no doubt the reason he is being deported is because the report was critical of the electoral system - for example it showed a leading government figure has an electorate with just 7000 voters while the Deputy Opposition Leader has an electorate with 100,000 constituents.

"There is a class of people who have never lost power since Malaysia was formed and they are now worried as the youthful population is calling for democratic changes and they don't know what to do about it.

"There has been no violence so the government can't call them terrorists and crack down on them, there have been no agent provocateurs to provide a trigger for an armed crackdown. Senator Xenophon's presence provides them with an international voice about problems with the electoral system, so they want him out."

Dr Fernandes said Senator Xenophon was not at risk of harm from Malaysian authorities but said they wanted him out of the country to avoid a focus for discontent, as elections must be held by June.

He noted Senator Xenophon has annoyed the Government by giving copies of the Fact Finding Mission on Election in Malaysia to every diplomatic mission base in Canberra to ensure the wider international community was aware of electoral issues in the nation.

The fact finding mission was conducted by international observer group with representatives from India, Pakistan, Germany, Indonesia, the Philippines as well as Senator Xenophon and Dr Fernandes.

Senator Xenophon visited the nation in April last year when he was teargassed by riot police breaking up a mass peaceful demonstration in Kuala Lumpur demanding democratic reforms.

Akhbar berpengaruh Australia, The Age meramalkan skandal pembunuhan Altantuya Shaariibu yang dikaitkan dengan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak akan menjejaskan peluang Umno BN dalam pilihan raya umum (PRU) akan datang.

“Najib menafikan penglibatannya, tetapi dakwaan tersebut tidak akan hilang. Internet di Malaysia sedang ‘panas’ dengan pendedahan seorang ahli perniagaan yang tidak berpuas hati dengannya, Deepak Jaikishan, yang mempunyai hubungan dengan Umno,” tulis portal akhbar itu semalam.

Menurut akhbar berkenaan, pendedahan Deepak juga merupakan sebahagian usaha untuk membongkar misteri pembunuhan warga Mongolia itu pada 2006.

Akhbar itu turut mengaitkan pembelian dua kapal selam dianggarkan bernilai USD2 bilion pada 2002, ketika Najib menjadi Menteri Pertahanan.

The Age turut mengaitkan hubungan Abdul Razak Baginda, yang dituduh membunuh Altantuya namun dibebaskan mahkamah pada 2009.

“Antara tuntutan yang dibuat oleh Deepak seperti dinyatakan kepada pembangkang dan laman web bebas adalah bukti akuan bersumpah pada 2008 oleh penyiasat, (P) Balasubramaniam yang menyatakan Najib mempunyai hubungan seksual dengan Altantuya.

Malaysian PM caught up in murder, bribery scandal

THE plot has all the trappings of a B-grade movie: the murder of a glamorous Mongolian socialite amid allegations of high-level bribery, blackmail, betrayal and political cover-up.

But these are real-life events, and they could set back the chances of Malaysia's ruling coalition in an election that Prime Minister Najib Razak must call by midyear.

Mr Najib denies involvement but the allegations will not go away. The internet in Malaysia is running hot with allegations by a disaffected businessman, Deepak Jaikishan, who is well connected in the ruling United Malays National Organisation.

Malaysia's outgoing premier Badawi issued a damning indictment of the ruling party, saying it was contaminated by greed, complacency and internal rivalries.

They relate in part to the alleged cover-up of the murder of 28-year-old Mongolian fashion model and translator Altantuya Shaariibuu in a patch of jungle in the Kuala Lumpur suburbs in 2006.

The second part of the controversy is driven by an inquiry in France into a complex money trail left by Malaysia's $US2 billion purchase of two French-Spanish built Scorpene submarines in 2002 while Mr Najib was defence minister.

Ms Shaariibuu worked as a translator in the latter stages of the deal negotiations. Political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda speaks during a news conference in Kuala Lumpur November 20, 2008. Razak, a former aide to Malaysian deputy prime minister Najib Razak, moved on Thursday to exonerate Najib's name in a case involving the murder of a Mongolian woman that dogged the country's next leader.

The link between the two events is a Ferrari-driving businessman, Abdul Razak Baginda, one of Mr Najib's best friends and policy advisers, who was the director of the Malaysian Strategic Research Centre.

Mr Najib, who is preparing to contest his first election since being installed in power by his party in 2009, denies ever meeting Ms Shaariibuu or having any link with her. The government denies any wrongdoing in the submarine purchases.

But it was two of Mr Najib's bodyguards who dragged Ms Shaariibuu from a car, knocked her unconscious and shot her twice in the head on October 19, 2006, according to court testimony. She had begged for her life and apparently that of her unborn child.

The killers then wrapped her body in C4 plastic explosives obtained from the military and blew her up, ensuring the foetus was destroyed along with the identity of the father. For good measure, they erased her entry into Malaysia from immigration records.

The Scorpene submarine story has been tumbling out since 2002 when Mr Najib ordered them from French ship builder DCNS.

Two French investigating magistrates are looking into so-called ''commission'' payments of about $US160 million into companies reportedly set up by Mr Baginda. Documents have been seized from the DCNS offices in Paris.
